Vishwakarma Jayanti is celebrated on the birth day of Bhagwan Vishwakarma, often known as Vishwakarma Puja. Just like Makar Sankranti, the festival that falls on the 15th day of January, Vishwakarma Puja is celebrated every year on the day of Kanya Sankranti. Hence, this festival falls on 16-17 September.
➤ Since Vishwakarma ji is worshiped according to Kanya Sankranti, but mostly due to this Sankranti falling on 17th September, the incarnation of Vishwakarma has started celebrated on 17th September among the common people.
Bhagwan Vishwakarma is considered the world's first engineer and architect. Vishwakarma helped Bhagwan Brahma in the creation of the universe. It is believed that Vishwakarma ji built the houses, cities, Astra-sastra etc. of the gods. Many cities, buildings and objects like Hastinapur, Dwarka, Indrapuri, Pushpak Viman and Indraprastha have been constructed. Therefore, Bhagwan Vishwakarma is worshiped in industries and factories on this day.

Worship method to celebrate Vishwakarma Jayanti
❀ On the day of Vishwakarma Jayanti, first of all get up early in the morning and then after taking bath and clean the place of worship by wearing clean clothes.
❀ While installing the idol of Vishwakarma, take a vow of worship and start the worship and worship the tools associated with the idol.
❀ Offer paan, betel nut, turmeric, akshat, flowers, cloves, fruits and sweets to Bhagwan Vishwakarma and start the ritual with the worship method prescribed in the scriptures.
❀ Then by lighting incense and lamps, perform aarti of Bhagwan Vishwakarma and offer Rakshasutra.
❀ Worship the machines and tools of the office along with the worship of Bhagwan Vishwakarma.
❀ In the end, apologize to Bhagwan Vishwakarma for the mistake in the worship and pray for progress in business, in the end distribute the prasad.
Based on some beliefs, Vishwakarma Puja is celebrated with Govardhan Puja on the very next day of Diwali.
