💰Varalakshmi Pooja - वरलक्ष्मी पूजा

Varalakshmi Pooja Date: Friday, 8 August 2025

Varalakshmi Vrat is a festival to propitiate Devi Lakshmi. Varalakshmi Devi is one who grants Vara (Boons). As per mythology, this vrat was performed by Devi Parvati to seek prosperity and happiness.
Varalakshmi Vrat is kept on the last Friday of the month of Shravan (Sawan), if understood in simple language, Varalakshmi is worshiped and fasted on Friday that comes before Shravan Purnima i.e. Raksha Bandhan. Performing Varalakshmi Vrat gives the same virtue as worshiping Ashta Lakshmi. By observing Varalakshmi fast, poverty ends and happiness and wealth increase in the family.

Varalakshmi Vrat is very popular in South Indian states like Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra. On this day, mostly married women perform this vrat for the welfare of their husbands and family members, for wealth, property and splendor.
