• Surdas made many efforts to protect Hindu religion. His only weapon in this battle was devotion.

• Apart from the famous literary work like Sur Sagar, Surdas ji is also known for other literary works like Sur-Saravali and Sahitya-Lahiri.

• It is believed that the fame of Surdas ji was widespread even in the Mughal courts. Because of which he used to be a big fan even in the Mughal emperor Akbar at that time.

• There is no consensus among historians and scholars regarding the birth and death of Surdas. According to a report, Surdas was born in 1479 AD and left his body in 1586.

• According to legend, Saint Surdas ji had a vision of Lord Krishna in his dream and Shri Krishna told him to go to Vrindavan. There he found a guru in the form of Sri Vallabhacharya, who was an ardent devotee of Lord Krishna. After gaining knowledge of Hindu scriptures, Surdas started singing devotional songs dedicated to Lord Krishna in Vrindavan.
