The third day of Shardiya Navratri is dedicated to Devi Parvati's mata Chandraghanta form, this third day is famous as Vindoor Tritiya festival. According to the Hindu calendar Ashwin Shukla Tritiya Sindoor Tritiya is celebrated on the date.
Sindoor is considered a sign of Suhagan (Married). Not applying vermilion even when married is considered inauspicious. Offering vermilion to Mata Rani on the day of Sindoor Tritiya increases the fortune of married women. Sindoor is included in the special items of Devi worship.

Sindoor Tritiya Puja Vidhi
❀ Sindoor Tritiya is celebrated on the third day of Shardiya Navratri i.e. on Tritiya Tithi according to the Hindu calendar. This day is of mata Devi Chandraghanta, the third of the nine forms of the Devi.
❀ Offering vermillion to Mata Rani on the day of Sindoor Tritiya increases the good fortune of married women, brings happiness and peace in the house and removes the troubles of life. Sindoor is included in the special items of Devi Puja.
❀ On the day of Sindoor Tritiya, lakhs of women worship the Mata Rani with great pomp and seek her blessings.
According to the Hindu calendar, Sindoor Tritiya is celebrated on Tritiya Tithi i.e. the third day of Navratri. Sindoor Tritiya is also known by names like Maha Tritiya Navratri Durga Puja, Saubhagya Teej and Gauri Teej. On this day, married women, after applying vermillion to the mother, keep the remaining vermillion with them as Prasad. It is said that the Swastika symbol should be made on the main door of the house with the same vermillion so that there is peace and prosperity in the house. This day represents Mata Parvati in the married form of Mata Chandraghanta.
