Importance of Rishi Panchami
Women often observe a fast on this day to honor the Saptarishis (seven great sages) and seek their blessings. It is believed that this fast helps in reducing various menstrual related problems and promotes overall well-being. It is believed that taking a dip in the river Ganga on this day frees one from sins and provides spiritual benefits. For those who cannot go to Ganga, there is a practice of adding a few drops of Ganga water to bathing water at home.
