When should one worship Pradosh Vrat?
The worship of Pradosh Vrat should be done during Pradosh Kaal according to the time of sunset of your city.
What not to do in Pradosh?
Do not take food without worshiping Bhagwan Shiva during Pradosh period. Do not consume food, salt, chili etc. during the fast.
What should be kept in the plate of worship in Pradosh Vrat?
Worship with Abir, Gulal, Sandalwood, Black Sesame, Flowers, Dhatura, Bilvapatra, Shami Patra, Janeu, Kalava, Deepak, Camphor, Agarbatti and fruits in the Pooja plate.
Pradosh Vrat Method
❀ To observe Pradosh Vrat, a person should get up early in the morning before sunrise on the day of Trayodashi.
❀ After retiring from nityakarm, remember Bhagwan Shri Bhole Nath.
❀ Food is not taken in this fast.
❀ After fasting for the whole day, one hour before sunset, white clothes are worn after bathing.
❀ After purifying the place of worship with Gangajal or clean water, the mandap is prepared by smearing it with cow dung.
❀ Now Rangoli is made using five colors in this mandap.
❀ Kusha's asan is used to worship Pradosh Vrat.
❀ In this way, after making preparations for worship, one should sit facing the north-east direction and worship Bhagwan Shankar.
❀ While chanting the mantra 'Om Namah Shivay' of bhagwan Shiva in worship, water should be offered to Shiva.
Pradosh Vrat Mahima
Observing Pradosh Vrat gives the same virtuous fruit as donating two cows. A mythological fact emerges regarding Pradosh Vrat that one day when there will be a situation of unrighteousness all around, there will be monopoly of injustice and incest, there will be more selfishness in humans. Instead of doing good deeds, a person will do more mean deeds. In that time, the person who observes the vrat of Trayodashi and worships Shiva, will be blessed by Shiva. The person who observes this fast comes out of the cycle of birth after birth and moves forward on the path of salvation. That Person will get the best lok.
Importance of Pradosh Vrat
❀ According to belief and faith, both men and women observe this fast. It is said that by observing this fast one can get rid of many defects and get rid of troubles. ❀ This fast also holds weekly importance.
❀ Long life and good health benefits can be obtained by observing Pradosh Vrat on Sunday.
❀ The fast observed on Monday on Trayodashi provides health and all the wishes of a human being are fulfilled.
❀ If there is Pradosh Vrat of Trayodashi on Tuesday, then fasting on that day gives freedom from diseases and health benefits.
❀ If Pradosh Vrat is observed on Wednesday, all the wishes of the worshiper are fulfilled.
❀ If Pradosh Vrat is observed on Thursday, then the fruits of this day's Vrat destroy the enemies.
❀ Pradosh Vrat, which is observed on Friday, is observed for good luck and happiness in married life.
❀ If you wish to have a child, then Pradosh Vrat should be observed on Saturday.
❀ Keeping in mind your objectives, when Pradosh Vrat is observed, the fulfillment of vrat increases.
Udyapan of Pradosh Vrat
❀ After keeping this fast for eleven or 26 Trayodashis, the fast should be celebrated.
❀ Udyapan fasting should be done on the Trayodashi date only.
❀ Shri Ganesh is worshiped a day before Udyapan. Jagran is done in the night before by doing kirtan.
❀ Waking up early in the morning, a mandap is made, the mandap is decorated with clothes and rangoli.
❀ Havan is performed by chanting 'Om Uma Sahitha Shivaya Namah' mantra i.e. 108 times.
❀ Kheer is used for offering in Havan.
❀ After the Havan is over,Bhagwan Bholenath's Aarti is performed and Shanti Path is recited.
❀ In the end, two Brahmins are fed and blessings are obtained by giving charity and dakshina according to their ability.
