Paush Bada Utsav is the festival celebrated during the Hindu calendar month Paush in Jaipur city, the capital of Indian state of Rajasthan. Paush means Hindu panchang month and Bada means pakode, the fried snack originating from the Indian subcontinent.
The first lakkhi Poshbada festival was celebrated in the Ghat Ke Balaji temple by Shri Badri Das ji, Mahant of Shri Badrikashram during 1960. Today, people celebrate this day according to their ease in order to follow this festival. During the month of Paush, everyday there is a Paush Bada celebration in Jaipur.
This festival is welcome of the winter season in the grand manner. The human body gets strength by eating Chola pulse and wheat pudding halwa in the winter season. Therefore, keeping the winter in mind, the consumption of pakoras, dal-bati-churma, multigrain khichdi etc is offered in this festival.
