Matsya Jayanti Date: Monday, 31 March 2025
The Matsya avatar is the first of the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu, who incarnated to save the universe from the demon Hayagriva. Matsya Jayanti is celebrated on Tritiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month.
According to Matsya Purana, Shri Vishnu is worshiped on this day in Matsya avatar. It is also called Haypanchami. On this day, Lord Vishnu performed Matsyavatara on the Pushpabhadra beach in the post-midnight Bela and performed spiritual welfare.
