Mahalakshmi Vrat holds special significance in Sanatan Dharm. This Vrat is kept for at least 16 days. Mata Lakshmi is worshiped as the goddess of wealth. Every year Mahalakshmi Vrat starts from the Ashtami date of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month. Also, it concludes on the Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month. In such a situation, these 16 days are dedicated to the worship of Devi Lakshmi. In such a situation, any person who is blessed by Devi Lakshmi does not have to face money related problems in life.
Mahalaxmi Vrat Katha:
According to Hindu scriptures, once Dharma Raj Yudhishthir asked Bhagwan Krishna how he could regain his lost kingdom. Bhagwan Krishna advised him to observe Mahalaxmi Vrat to get back his loss, prosperity and wealth. Bhagwan Krishna said that those who worship Devi Lakshmi and observe Vrat for sixteen consecutive days are blessed with all the desired wishes. In some areas, devotees offer water to Bhagwan Surya at sunrise. Devotees who are unable to observe the Vrat for these sixteen days can observe this Vrat for 3 days – 1st day, 8th day and 16th day.
