Magh Mela is organized every year in Prayagraj. Devotees from all over the country and abroad come to take bath in this Magh Mela. Prayagraj is the confluence of rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati. This confluence point is called Triveni. This is a very holy place. It is believed that by taking a bath on the banks of Sangam, all the sins are washed away and the sufferings of the person are also reduced. According to Padma Purana, one who takes bath at Triveni Sangam attains salvation. Taking bath on the banks of Sangam during Magh Mela is even more auspicious. A grand mela is also organized during this period. Many saints and devotees spend their Kalpavas here and perform religious activities.
