Bipadtarini Puja is an auspicious worship dedicated to Devi Shakti who is also a manifestation of Goddess Kali. Bipadtarini Puja is celebrated on Tuesday-Saturday in the month of Asadh Sukla Paksha according to the Hindu calendar, after the Rath Yatra and often before the Bahuda Rath Yatra. This puja is mainly celebrated in the region of Bengal, Odisha, Assam. Maa Bipadtarini is celebrated every year with special devotion by the women of Bengali society.
How is Bipadtarini vrat is performed?
❀ One day before fasting, women who want to vrat are required to consume only vegetarian food. Women must keep vrat on the day of fasting.
❀ On the days of Mata's vrat, wake up early in the morning and take a bath and wear clean clothes. Clean the whole house thoroughly and purify it by sprinkling Gangajal.
❀ Along with this, worship Mata Bipadtarini ji. 13 types of fruits, flowers, sweets are offered to the Devi as Naivedya. The goddess is worshiped with a hibiscus flower, which brings good luck.
❀ The fasting women wear a sacred thread of red color with fourteen knots in their left hand. If men observe vrat, they should wear this thread on the right hand.
❀ During this, the fasting story of Maa Bipadtarini is also narrated by the priests in the temples.
The popular belief is that those who observe the vrat are blessed by Devi Bipadtarini and will be able to protect the family from all kinds of troubles.
