The child form and most fearsome form of Bhagwan Shiva is Batuk Bhairav. According to the Panchang, Batuk Bhairav Jayanti is celebrated on the tenth day of Shukla Paksha of Jyeshtha month. Special worship of Bhagwan Batuk Bhairav is done on this day. There is a religious belief that worshiping Batuk Bhairav increases happiness and peace and all the wishes of the person are fulfilled. This year this festival will be celebrated on 16th June.
Mythology behind Batuk Bhairav Jayanti
According to the Puranas, there was a demon named Aapda. The gods and goddesses of the three worlds and humans on earth were troubled by his atrocities. Aapda had a boon that no god or goddess would be able to kill him. Only a five year old child can kill him. Then the gods and goddesses went to Bhagwan Shiva with their problems. By the grace of Shiva and the power of Gods and Goddesses, Shiva was born as a five year old boy. The child was named Batuk Bhairav. This child had killed the demon Aapad.

❀ The child form of Bhagwan Shiva is worshiped to get the blessings of Bhagwan Batuk Bhairav.
❀ White flowers, sweet kheer and laddu etc. are offered to the Bhagwan. It is believed that this pleases Batuk Bhairav.
❀ Apart from this, worship Bhagwan Mahadev to remove the negative effects of inauspicious planets. Also offer milk to Shivling. It is believed that by doing this remedy all the wishes of a person are fulfilled.
❀ If you are troubled by Shani Dosh, then on the occasion of Batuk Jayanti, make pakodas and puas and feed them to a needy person. With this you will get relief from the problem of Shani Dosh.
❀ It is believed that the day of Batuk Bhairav Jayanti is considered best for removing bad luck. On this day, mustard oil is applied on bread and fed to a black dog.
