Sinni is a typical Prashad made only during
Satyanarayan Puja in Westbengal and Odisha. The rituals of Narayan puja are very simple and the Prashad to offer Satya Narayan is also very rudimentary, something that any home in rural Bengal and Odisha could put together without much preparation. Making Sinni, only required a little measurement, just go with each ingredient.
Main Ingredients
❀ Whole Wheat Flour(Atta): 2 cup
❀ Whole Milk: 2 Cups
❀ Sugar: 1 Cup
❀ Banana: 2ripe banana.
For garnishing:
❀ Cashew: 1 cup
❀ Kishmish(Raisins) : 1 cup
❀ Grated Coconut: 1 Cup
Preparation:
❀ In a big bowl, in which you will be offering the Shinni, add the bananas and mash them with your fingers.
❀ Next, add the sugar and mix it well with the bananas and smash up to a smooth paste.
❀ Now add the wheat flour and gradually add the milk, mixing with your fingers to get a smooth batter.
❀ Add the cashews, raisins and the grated coconut in it.
