Sister Nivedita was an Irish-born Hindu nun who was a disciple of Swami Vivekananda. She was a strong supporter of women's rights and education and played a major role in the development of the Ramakrishna Mission.

Sister Nivedita was born in Dublin, Ireland, and met Swami Vivekananda at the Parliament of the World's Religions in Chicago. She was so impressed by his teachings that she decided to become a Hindu nun. She took the name Nivedita, which means "Devoted to God." Nivedita returned to India in 1898 and began working with Swami Vivekananda to establish schools and hospitals for women. She also worked to improve the lives of the poor and the oppressed.

She is also remembered for her close association with Swami Vivekananda, one of the most influential figures in Indian history, and for being one of the closest associates of Ramakrishna's wife Sarada Devi. Sister Nivedita is an important figure in Indian history. She is remembered for her work in the fields of education, social reform and women's rights.
