Mateshwari Jagadamba Saraswati was the spiritual leader of the Brahma Kumaris. Mateshwari Jagadamba Saraswati, popularly known as Saraswati Mamma, was also the first administrative head of the Brahma Kumaris organization (1950–65).
Mateshwari Jagadamba Saraswati was deeply impressed by Dada Lekhraj's elaboration of the essence in the verses of Gita. Seeing the miracle of transformation in the lives of her mother and aunt, Radhe started attending Geeta satsang with them. Mateshwari Jagadamba Saraswati's interest shifted from dolls to becoming an angel of love and peace. Mateshwari realized the divine presence in Prajapita Brahma (Dada Lekhraj). She used to become intoxicated when Brahma Baba played “Murli”.
Mateshwari Jagadamba Saraswati had a very strong personality. Her words had magical power, her words changed the lives of many people and inspired them to become great. Mateshwari was the epitome of service. She was given the responsibility of managing the "Yagya" (institution). She took care of every need of the spiritual children and was at their service till her last breath.
She left her mortal body on June 24, 1965, which is now celebrated as Mother's sweet remembrance day by the Brahma Kumaris.
